Material Technology Change Guidance

To support the implementation of CMP434, the Material Technology Change Guidance provides essential guidance on how NESO will manage Gated Modification Applications related to technology changes.

This guidance defines principles for understanding which technology changes may be considered ‘material’. It explains the impacts of such material technology changes on the relative queue positions of projects, to ensure that the network is designed in a safe, secure, economic and efficient manner.

Please note that the Material Technology Change Guidance applies to processes and modification applications under enduring connections reform, and is not relevant to the Gate 2 to Whole Queue process. Technology changes / additions (with the exception of technology reductions / removals) to contracted connection agreements are not permitted as part of the Gate 2 to Whole Queue process.
