Strategic energy planning (SEP) Environmental Assessments
Following the delivery of the Holistic Network Design (HND) and Follow Up Exercise (HNDFUE) the National Energy System Operator (NESO) is conducting statutory environmental assessments on these design recommendations.
Draft HND Implementation Plan public consultation
Between November 2025 and January 2026, NESO consulted with the public on our Holistic Network Design (HND) Implementation Plan and associated environmental reports. We have reviewed all feedback received and used them to inform any necessary updates to the HND Implementation Plan and environmental assessments.
Assessment's being delivered
The assessment/s that are being delivered include:
- Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA)
- Marine Conservation Zone (MCZ) Assessment
- Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
