Groundbreaking innovation projects set to bolster energy security and decarbonisation the focus at Energy Innovation Summit

Energy Innovation Summit

At last week’s Energy Innovation Summit in Glasgow, organisations from across the energy sector came together to discuss and highlight groundbreaking projects aimed at steering Great Britain toward a secure, affordable and zero carbon future. The event highlighted the critical role of innovation in overcoming the challenges of transitioning to a sustainable energy system.

At the event, Claudia Centazzo, Innovation Portfolio Manager at NESO, joined the opening panel with Marzia Zafar, Deputy Director of Governance for Data & Digitalisation at Ofgem and Guy Newey, CEO at Energy Systems Catapult, to discuss how to break down barriers to innovation. This is vital to maximise the potential of innovation and leverage the wealth of expertise across Great Britain.

This was further stressed by Darren Holyoake, Head of Delivery, Digital, Data & Technology at NESO, during a panel session on maintaining resilience in a changing energy system to deliver clean power by 2030.
