Our Power Responsive programme has launched a new Call to Industry inviting large industrial and commercial energy users to play a leading role in shaping a more flexible, resilient, and decarbonised energy future for Great Britain.
This open call marks a major milestone in our ongoing collaboration with businesses and energy partners to unlock Demand Side Flexibility (DSF) at scale a key enabler for a secure, clean, and affordable energy system.
Through the Clean Flexibility Roadmap, developed with Government and Ofgem, Power Responsive is encouraging large energy users such as airports, data centres, and manufacturing sites to participate in DSF programmes.
Demand Side Flexibility allows businesses to increase, decrease or store electricity use in response to system needs. By doing so, they can earn additional income while supporting the stability of the national grid and helping reduce carbon emissions.
“Energy flexibility is critical to our future energy system, providing cost and carbon incentives for companies that participate, unlocking new commercial revenue streams, and reducing costs for everyday consumers in the process.
We want to work with Britain’s largest energy users to make this goal a reality and turn energy efficiency into a commercial advantage for British business.”
NESO is committed to working with industrial and commercial energy users to raise awareness of existing flexibility opportunities and co-develop new solutions that make flexible electricity use a practical reality.
This initiative forms part of NESO’s whole-system approach to deliver Clean Power 2030 where flexibility underpins a secure, efficient and decarbonised energy network for everyone.
