Daily operational planning margin requirement (OPMR)

OPMR is the amount of generation exceeding the demand forecast needed to meet our reserve requirement.
When assessing and publishing generation availability information against system requirements, the ESO includes an OPMR above demand forecast for 2-13 days ahead.

NOTE: As part of our ongoing efforts to align with data management best practices and improve consistency across datasets, the column ids in the below datafile will be updated on 17th September 2026 as follows:

  1. Daily Operational Planning Margin Requirement:
    Maximum I/C Import → Maximum IC Import
    Maximum I/C Export → Maximum IC Export
    Operating Reserve provided by I/Cs → Operating Reserve provided by ICs
