About the Data Portal

NESO introduced the Open Data Portal as part of our RIIO-2 business plan. Our aims were to:   

• Deliver a user friendly open data portal   
• Make open data available to all 
• Use our data to make informed decisions 

We strive to make our data ‘open’ wherever possible (unless doing so would pose unacceptable risk, for example security or data privacy related, etc). Our datasets have clear descriptions about the data we publish and are kept up to date, making it easier for us to maintain accuracy and provide detailed information.

There are different ways to consume our data, like through APIs. This allows the data to be consumed in other apps, making it easier to work with.   

We will continue to make things more transparent and improve our open data platform, which will ultimately help people gain valuable insights.
